Bellrock enhances health and safety offering with Alcumus

Legislative duties are finding their way to the top of the agenda for UK business.

Facilities management and property service specialists, Bellrock, has announced they are partnering with the UK-based health and safety assessment contractor scheme, Alcumus SafeContractor, to help improve business assurance, reduce site risk and improve supply chain visibility.

With HSE guidance placing greater focus on management to demonstrate leadership and commitment on driving health and safety compliance, legislative duties are finding their way to the top of the agenda for UK business.

The SafeContactor accreditation scheme offers peace of mind to companies hiring contractors, that health and safety is being handled correctly and regulations are being adhered to across the organisation. The scheme gives companies visibility of contactors working on their sites to ensure they are safe, compliant and have a thorough understanding of the latest legislation.

Bellrock decided to partner with SafeContactor to improve the day to day management of its clients, whilst maintaining the highest level of health and safety. One of the company’s core offerings is to provide clients with simplified solutions to operational property issues, which can often involve managing entire sites through the provision of multiple outsourced services.

Commenting on the adoption of SafeContractor, David Smith CEO of Bellrock, commented: “Our certification to OHSAS18001 is testament to the importance we place on this integral aspect of the management of our business and that of our clients. Our partnership with Alcumus SafeContractor will secure a more robust approach to ensuring we only work with suppliers who are aligned with our culture of compliance.”

Gemma Archibald, Director of Alcumus SafeContractor, added: “The consequences of not managing health and safety efficiently can have an immediate financial impact on your organisation and cause long-term damage including loss of revenue, reputational damage, loss of productivity, delayed cash flows and even legal proceedings. It’s vital that any organisation hiring contractors have visibility of their supply chain and trust that their contractors have evidence of compliance."
