Cordant Security fortifies senior management team

Dave McCann

David McCann has been appointed by Cordant Security to the role of Risk and Resilience Director, further strengthening its senior management.

McCann is a specialist in crisis management, counterterrorism, risk assessment, close protection, operations management and physical security. Within his new role, he will oversee and mitigate the risk and resilience requirements for Cordant Security and its clients.

His duties will include carrying out full bespoke security risk assessments of client buildings, chairing the Security Risk Assessment Group (SRAG) meeting, and monitoring security horizon issues, such as protests or terrorism events.

McCann joins the business from First Security Guards, where he was Head of Risk, working on the company’s contract with the BBC. Responsibilities included directing all security and risk management processes, including legal governance of risk documents and protocols. He also served as a counter terrorism advisor for corporate contingency planning and was the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) lead for company risk.

Speaking about McCann’s appointment, Brendan Musgrove, Managing Director of Cordant Security, said: “We are very pleased to add someone of David’s calibre to our senior management team. This role will play an integral part in the ongoing success and development of our fast-growing organisation, and David was the stand-out candidate. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience across all elements of the industry.”
