ELECOSOFT ACQUIRES SHIRE SYSTEMS

 has acquired Shire Systems Ltd for an enterprise of £5.1m.

Elecosoft, has announced its acquisition of Shire Systems Ltd, a UK maintenance management software provider. It has acquired Shire Systems Ltd for an enterprise of £5.1m.

Southampton based Shire Systems has developed Pirana, a computerised maintenance management system (or CMMS). Pirana allows companies to improve facilities management, reduce costs and increase productivity. It acts as a ‘digital doctor’ for buildings and equipment keeping them running smoothly and in good health. 

The acquisition of Shire Systems extends Elecosoft’s product usage beyond early planning, design and construction by providing a system for managing and maintaining equipment and property.  

Commenting on the acquisition, Jonathan Hunter, Chief Operating Officer, Elecosoft said: “This acquisition enhances our customers’ ability to manage building complexities simply and digitally. Shire Systems allows Elecosoft to offer building and construction software on a cradle-to-grave basis from design, planning and project management through to facilities and property management. 

He continued: “We chose to acquire Shire Systems as it’s a market-leading CMMS technology which allows users to effectively run their buildings and manufacturing plants. The team at Shire are highly customer focused and we look forward to the benefits its complementary tech will offer our customers.”
