powerPerfector bucks UK manufacturing trend

When manufacturing transfers between the UK and Japan, it is usually a story of British job losses and Far East gains.

But, buoyed by the weakness of the Pound, one company is reversing the flow – as the first UK manufactured powerPerfector Voltage Power Optimiser, leaves the production line.
Over the last ten years powerPerfector has grown in to one of the UK’s most successful ‘green tech’ companies by distributing Japanese built energy efficiency technology to government departments, councils and numerous FTSE 250 corporates. As a result, the company was last year named the UK’s fastest growing ‘green’ company.

“This is fantastic news for the company and the UK,” says Angus Robertson, powerPerfector’s CEO. “To be securing UK jobs at a very challenging time for business is quite an achievement.”
“It is often said that the only way for the Country to get back on its feet financially, is to start building things again and we’ve identified one of the world’s leading companies in the design and manufacture of wound power components for the rail and defence industries to hand build VPO units.

“All of our European customers will benefit from a new, innovative design that will improve the efficiency of the powerPerfector, without any compromise on the quality and reliability of the units.”

The move to bring manufacturing to the UK has been supported by Westminster MP Mark Field, who said: “With the ability of its products to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions alongside reductions in energy bills powerPerfector is exactly the sort of manufacturing organisation that this country needs to help us meet our financial growth targets.”

UK manufacture reduces the embedded carbon within the unit by 17 per cent and halves delivery times to powerPerfector customers.
