Cablofil helps keep Olympic media centre on course

As the world’s athletes limber up for London 2012, Cablofil has been helping to ensure that everyone gets to see the agony and the ecstasy of the Olympics by supplying more than nine miles of steel wire tray for the International Broadcast Centre (IBC).

Designed to provide a base for the world’s media to report on the Games, the vast 42,000m2 media centre combines huge double height studios with four levels of office accommodation located by the hockey and handball pitches in the Olympic Complex.  Constructed at a cost of £308 million, the facility will boast state of the art data and broadcasting facilities along with a UPS system that will ensure consistent coverage round the clock.

Paul Courson, managing director of Cablofil commented: “The speed of installation and flexibility of the Cablofil system, including our Fasclic couplers, has helped to keep this massive installation to schedule, ensuring that the media will be just as well-prepared to hit the ground running as the athletes.”
