Repair and finishing specialist to offer repair clinic at Facilities show

Specialist finishing and surface repair firm Plastic Surgeon plans to hold a repair clinic at the Facilities show this year, where it will welcome attendees to visit its stand and challenge its repair specialists on how to make good surface damage.

Plastic Surgeon is exhibiting at the Facilities show for the first time this year and to help demonstrate its specialist skillset, the firm is inviting people to bring portable damaged surfaces to the show, where it’s fine finishers will advise on repair solutions.
Mark McKay, Head of Facilities Management at Plastic Surgeon, said: “Facilities management is a rapidly growing sector for us, as awareness of the benefits of surface repair is increasing. The Facilities show though is the perfect venue to target facilities managers who aren’t aware of what we can do, and what better way to display our skillset than to demonstrate them first hand?”

He continued: “We’re inviting interested FMs to bring in items or photos with surface damage that they can then ask our team of fine finishers to advise on how to go about repairing, and indeed if repairs can be done.”

He added: “Of course, the things bought to us will be limited by size and transport constraints, but if you’ve got anything portable to hand, then why not bring it and see if we can help? I will stress though, that it’s surface repair we offer. Try not to bring in an iPhone and expect us to work magic!”

If the surface damage is on an item too large to carry in, the Plastic Surgeon team will welcome photographs of damage that they can then assess and give professional repair advice on.

The firm will also have a large model rhino on its stand as part of Paignton Zoo’s Great Big Rhino Project which aims to raise money for rhino conservation. Plastic Surgeon will be inviting attendees to guess the weight of the model, with the opportunity to win free repair work as the prize for the winner.

Mark McKay said: “The Great Big Rhino Project is a fantastic cause, and we’re hoping to build awareness of it at the show.”

Plastic Surgeon is able to assist facilities managers by helping to reduce the cost of maintaining premises, whilst saving time and reducing waste. Providing both internal and external surface repair, the cosmetic work conducted by Plastic Surgeon reverses the effects of accidental damage and natural wear and tear commonly found by facilities managers.

The firm has over 155 directly employed repair specialists – or Finishers – across its seven UK regions, all trained in a variety of skills. Its FM offering sees specially trained Plastic Surgeon Finishers dedicated to working specifically within the sector and enhancing their skills according to FM requirements, be that in hotels, offices, universities, retail, public sector buildings or other areas.

Having invested in developing new techniques Plastic Surgeon offers repair solutions for masonry, metal, glass, ceramics and plastics. Existing facilities management work already being conducted by the firm includes work for Tarmac, Drayton Manor Park, Carnival Cruise Lines and UPP Residential Services.

Mark concluded: “We’re really looking forward to the Facilities Show and particularly looking forward to the repair jobs that are brought before us. Our finishers relish a challenge so it will be interesting to see what kind of surface damage they come up against.”
