BIFM TO SUPERCHARGE INSIGHTS AGENDA

BIFM TO SUPERCHARGE INSIGHTS AGENDA
The British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) has entered into an exciting two-year deal with specialist business and market development agency, b2b partnerships Ltd (b2b).

The partnership has been secured as BIFM prepares the ground work for its 2019 research programme which will see it develop focused streams of work on key areas impacting the profession today and into the future. The arrangement will help the Institute develop its strategic partnership programme, creating new opportunities for collaboration across the new work streams as well as other content and insights outputs.

Chris Moriarty, Director of Insight of BIFM, said: “We know that FM is at a significant point in its history. It is facing a range of challenges and opportunities, and we need to do more to understand and articulate what these possibilities mean for our profession, unlocking its capacity to adapt and thrive. The partnership with b2b brings the right experience at the right time in this exciting new phase as we determine how the right strategic and commercial partnerships can help bring this programme to life.”

“We have a number of ideas for areas of investigation already, and innovative ways of approaching them, so we’re looking for likeminded organisations we can work with to deliver a stronger provision of insight which in turn can make sure we’re providing the right guidance and support for our members and the wider profession.”

Ali Heppenstall, Managing Director of b2b partnerships, said: “As the world of work continues to change, it is fantastic to be working with the Institute during this exciting time of workplace transition. We have worked with BIFM to identify a number of opportunities already and developed innovative ways of approaching them. There is so much potential for the right organisations to work with BIFM and we are excited to be helping the Institute to grow and unlock its potential”.

With almost two decades of building high profile business to business partnerships which have increased revenues and enabled change for both clients and corporate partners, b2b has the required expertise to increase BIFM’s sustainability as a business as well drive change for the Institute and its partners. b2b will be connecting companies and developing partnerships, sponsorships and strategic alliances across dedicated programmes of work for the Institute.

BIFM has also announced today that Jacqueline Balian will formally step down from her role as Commercial Director in September. Jacqueline joined the BIFM last autumn for a fixed term to help define BIFM’s future strategic direction to enable the Institute to address new opportunities and challenges at a pivotal point in the Institute’s development.

After a year that has seen the Institute raise its profile in a number of key areas and strengthen its clout significantly, Jacqueline departs the BIFM to pursue new opportunities. She leaves an organisation that has established itself on a clear pathway to a new direction mandated by the membership, whose recent majority decision to embrace change was confirmed in a vote last month to rename the organisation the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management.

CEO Linda Hausmanis said: “It was fortunate timing that our business requirements and Jacqueline’s considerable knowledge and experience dovetailed at the right moment. We have benefited greatly from the energy and commitment she has given during her year with us, helping to support the business through a key stage in its transition. I’m grateful to Jaqueline for her important contribution and wish her well in her next project.

“I have a solid senior team in place to lead the next phase of our transition to the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management in November and we’re looking forward to making that a success.
