ThinkFM Speakers Announced

Ben Waber, a globally-recognised expert in people analytics, collaboration and wearable technology, has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at this year’s ThinkFM conference to be hosted by former Tomorrow’s World presenter Maggie Philbin OBE.

Returning for a seventh year on Thursday 8th June, ThinkFM is the flagship conference from the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) and takes place at the Science Museum exploring the theme of technology and ‘FM in a Connected World’.

Ben is the leader of Humanyze, a behavioural analytics company that uses wearable sensing technology to transform how companies are managed, and is passionate about harnessing the power of behavioural data and analytics to improve how people work.

His work centres around the use of real-time data flows to rethink the management of people, physical space, corporate planning and training.
Ben will investigate how people communicate with each other in the physical and digital world and how their communication patterns impact happiness, individual performance and organisational success.

The conference will be facilitated by Maggie Philbin OBE, co-founder and CEO of TeenTech, an award-winning organisation helping young people, their parents and teachers understand more about the real opportunities in science, technology and engineering.

With a TV and radio career spanning more than 30 years, Maggie is a widely-respected science and technology expert who is best known for her presenting role on BBC’s Tomorrow’s World programme.

In 2016, she was named as the Most Influential Woman in UKIT by Computer Weekly Magazine and also as the 2016 Digital Leader of the Year for her work with TeenTech to inspire tomorrow's innovators.

In January 2017, she was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List for her services to the science, technology and creative industries.
