LondonWaste rebrands to LondonEnergy

LondonWaste has today officially announced its rebranding to LondonEnergy.  The change reflects the company’s focus on high quality outputs and its transition to a business that is responsible for the management of valuable resources through reuse, recycling and the production of sustainable energy.

This is further emphasised in the company’s new strapline ‘Powering the Circular Economy’. Commenting on the Rebrand, LondonEnergy’s Managing Director, Peter Sharpe said:

“The rapidly developing sustainable energy and secondary resources markets make it an exciting time for LondonEnergy and the communities that we serve. We are transforming from a traditional waste management business in to an energy, recycling and resource management business and this rebranding better reflects the current and future activities of the Company.”

“LondonEnergy provides more than 300 well paid and skilled jobs for North London and this change also underlines our ambition to realise the opportunities of the future and to continue to make LondonEnergy a great place to work.”

LondonEnergy manages the household waste from over 1.9 million residents across seven North London boroughs and generates enough green energy to power over 80,000 homes.   Every year it sustainably diverts more than 698,000 tonnes of waste from landfill, saving approx. 300,000† tonnes of CO2 every year.  The company is one of the largest ‘energy from waste’ producers in the UK and contributes over £15m into the local London economy per annum.
