The Facilities Event 2018 Announce New Speakers

10th-12th April 2018

Western Business Exhibitions have announced nearly a dozen new keynote speakers for the upcoming Facilities Event. Taking place from 10th - 12th April at Birmingham’s NEC, The Facilities Event draws over 5,000 professionals from across the FM industry each year.

Delivering three keynote sessions per day, from leading FM speakers and industry influencers, the FM Matters Theatre welcomes C-J Green, Chief Executive Officer UK & Ireland, Servest on opening day to discover her people-centric approach to FM. C-J will share her journey from HR manager to CEO, emphasising why there’s a place for HR at the helm of the ship; and why putting people at the heart of an FM business boosts productivity and engagement.

Following the ‘practice what you preach mantra’, the NEC Birmingham’s very own facilities team is to host a session, shining the spotlight on FM in a 20-hall venue that plays host to over 140 conferences and exhibitions every year. The team will be joined by Jeremy Dicks from soft services partner OCS, to talk deeper about the challenges of managing this international venue.

For the first time, the role of biophilic design will be put under the spotlight at The Facilities Event, as TV presenter and sustainable architectural and interior design guru Oliver Heath discusses how we can harness the human attraction to nature to reduce stress, aid recuperation and boost productivity.

On the final day of the show, Dr Paul Wyton of Sheffield Hallam University asks “Are apprenticeships right for your business?” He will cover the purpose and benefits of degree apprenticeships and how FM organisations might make use of these learning programmes and the apprenticeship levy.

Tim Else, Event Director said: “We have an amazing show lined up for 2018 and are thrilled to welcome so many top industry names this year. With such high quality educational content, and innovations on display from over 200 suppliers, this free-to-attend event should be in every FM professional’s calendar. We look forward to welcoming you this April.”
