WHY IS SUSTAINABILITY A TEAM GAME?

As all eyes turn to New York climate week, Post NL’s international subsidiary Spring GDS echoes Prince William during London’s event earlier this year in saying that sustainability is a ‘TEAM Game’.

Recognising London’s power to drive local and global climate action, the leading logistics solutions provider opened an expanded facility in London Heathrow earlier this year.

Designed to enhance international shipping capabilities (including across the Atlantic) and with sustainability at its heart, the 30,000sq. metre facility can process 40,000 items per day. It is powered by 256 solar panels on the roof, with an EPC rating of A+.

Kelly van der Weg, Managing Director of Spring Global Delivery Solutions UK said: “The UK remains an important hub for any truly international e-commerce provider. So, as we expand our operations here building a sustainable facility was key. We believe collective action remains essential to providing efficient and eco-friendly logistics solutions for customers in London and beyond as they trade across borders.

“It’s a team effort. Social responsibility and corporate governance, guided by clear future goals is critical to making meaningful change.

“Last year, our parent company PostNL secured 6th place in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) by S&P Global. This achievement made our group the highest-ranked logistics e-commerce company worldwide—a distinction we take great pride in.”
