HAPPIEST WORKPLACE WINNER

Workplace and interior design consultancy Wylde IA has announced Recruitment agency Rethink, as the winner of its Happiest Workplace 2016 competition.

The Bristol office of this national recruitment company received the accolade at an awards ceremony hosted by partners Herman Miller at their headquarters in Chippenham and was attended by staff from shortlisted finalists Shiner, Paper Arts, M2 Bespoke and Excalibur Communications.

Judges of the contest, which received over 300 entries from UK companies and was staged by Bristol-based workplace and interior design consultancy Wylde IA, were impressed by Rethink’s unique attitude in an industry not usually associated with staff happiness and well-being.

Since relocating to Wine Street, Rethink has invested heavily to create a revitalising and bright workspace flooded with natural light. The relaxed and fun atmosphere is a million miles away from the traditional, high-pressure, target-driven approach often found in the recruitment sector.

The company has also invested in staff health and well-being, driven by Regional Manager Christine Christodoulou. The office works closely with Bristol Mind to put well-being at the heart of the business, and staff are encouraged to adopt a healthier lifestyle, with free fruit, breakfasts and advice on nutrition.

The office also donates 100 days a year to staff charity work and social activities play a huge part in the company, with drinks every Friday, treasure hunts, booze cruises and dragon boat racing.

Maxine Bennett, Director of Wylde IA said: “Yet again the quality and creativeness of the workspaces we’ve seen this year has been incredible. All our finalists’ workspaces are inspirational and it was extremely difficult to choose an overall winner. Rethink Recruitment is a worthy winner. They have created a space and company culture which nurtures the lifeblood of their company – the staff.  Congratulations to Christine and the team.”

Now in its second year, the Happiest Workplace competition was initially launched to celebrate Wylde IA’s 18 years in the business. The company wanted to find out exactly what makes a great workplace and, therefore, happy staff.
