National Theatre Appoints Emprise for Three More Years

Published on 28/07/2015
The cleaning division of Emprise Services plc, a leading support services provider, has been awarded a three-year contract extension with the National Theatre.
The extension, which began this month, will see Emprise continue to provide a range of daily cleaning services, along with deep cleaning to a number of areas from kitchens to auditoriums and a significant amount of window cleaning.
Emprise’s on-site manager, Cova Montes, supported by her 50-strong team, will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the contract.
Duncan Watt, head of building operations at the National Theatre, said: “I have worked closely with Emprise since taking over management of the cleaning contract. They have proved they can manage a challenging site with skill and expertise. We have recently gone through a venue wide re-development with our NT Future project which has required a significant amount of flexibility on the part of Emprise. They have risen to the challenge enabling us to provide a welcoming and clean venue.”
Danny Murray, Emprise’s key account director, said: “Since starting to work with the National Theatre, Emprise has provided a wide range of services along with professional management and supervision, which has generated significant time management and financial efficiencies. This contract extension is a reflection of the continual development of our excellent working relationship with the National Theatre and are striving for improvement in every aspect of our service delivery.”
The National Theatre, situated on London’s South Bank, has four theatres with a combined seating capacity of over 2,500. It presents up to seven or eight productions in repertory at any one time. The building also houses departments for making scenery, props, costumes and wigs, and everything else required to bring productions to the stage. There are several restaurants, cafes and bars for visitors and audiences, as well as exhibition galleries, a learning centre and a bookshop.
