Procius secures vetting contract with Delaware North UK

Mitie’s vetting agency, Procius, has secured a three-year contract worth £210,000 with global hospitality company Delaware North, one of the largest privately held hospitality companies in the world.

Under the contract Procius will vet over 4,000 existing Delaware North UK event staff in the first year. With a further 2,000 new applicants expected to be vetted per year.

This appointment underpins Delaware North’s industry leading ‘Protect Me’ campaign which places a renewed focus on security and protection for both staff and customers.  Following a review of security procedures and protocols, under the ‘Protect Me’ campaign all staff will be vetted in line with recommendations by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO). As well as the new Disclosure and Barring Service (“DBS”) documentation requirements, employees will also undergo basic criminal record and global sanctions checks.

Procius will deploy its MyCheck technology, which will integrate with Delaware North’s Applicant Tracking System, and Human Resources and Time & Attendance System.  As well as allowing a seamless journey for the Delaware North’s colleagues, it will reduce the admin burden for both its head office and events staff.

Doug Tetley, Managing Director, Delaware North UK, commented: “Delaware North UK is the first hospitality company to undertake this commitment across its entire workforce in the UK. We are leading the way in making our workplaces safer for our staff, our clients and their customers.

"Working with Procius has given us maximum benefit with minimum input. The software has seamlessly integrated into our existing systems. We are now confident that we are doing everything possible to ensure that the highest standards of staff safety are in place across our business.”
