City’s coolest offices open their doors for charity

18th - 22nd June 2018

Neuberger Berman, Delos, Nickelodeon and Viacom are just some of the big names participating in Workplace Week 2018 to celebrate and showcase workplace innovation and creativity, with all proceeds donated to the “I Have A Dream” Foundation – New York (IHDF-NY).

Following a successful six years in the UK, Workplace Week 2018 will arrive in New York this summer. Marking its US premiere, the Advanced Workplace Associates (AWA) fundraising event, supported by the IFMA Workplace Evolutionaries Group, will take place from 18th – 22nd June 2018.

To celebrate the first ever Workplace Week in America, there will be a week-long dynamic programme of events, including a busy schedule of ‘working workplace’ tours across New York. High-profile organisations will be opening their doors for the first time in June.

Neuberger Berman is one of them. In addition to being named “Best Place to Work in Money Management” by Pensions & Investments each year since 2013, Neuberger Berman’s new global headquarters, on 1290 Avenue of the Americas, earned the firm a 2017 International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Award nomination and a 2017 Avenue of the Americas Association’s Avenue Architectural Award.

As the pioneer of Wellness Real Estate, Delos will be showcasing its workplace at 860 Washington Street, in the heart of New York City’s Meatpacking District. The office, which illustrates how best practices meets the highest building certification standards, features a multifunctional lab space to process wellness data from a network of environmental sensors throughout the space, and an enhanced circadian lighting experience.

The jam-packed week will also include a sneak peek at Nickelodeon's recently redesigned offices, spanning six floors and 233,000sq.ft. at Viacom’s 1515 Broadway location. Key design elements include increased exposure to views and daylight, making leadership more visible, assigning private offices based upon need rather than title, and informal “refresh and connect” areas to foster a sense of community.

In addition to the ‘working workplace’ tours, the established London conference, Workplace Trends, will grace New York for the first time on 20th June. Workplace Trends conferences are all about sharing knowledge and connecting people.
