HESIS COMPLETES WORK ON LIVERPOOL CANCER CENTRE

HESIS has completed work on Clatterbridge Cancer Centre – Liverpool, the first specialist cancer hospital in the city, providing specialist cancer care to people in Cheshire, Merseyside and beyond.

The firm, appointed by Laing O'Rourke in November 2018, installed the fire alarm and emergency communication systems for the 11-storey building on behalf of their client, PropCare, which managed the project for The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust.

The new building, which sits alongside the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and the University of Liverpool medical school, opened on 27th June. It is now providing treatment to include pioneering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, bone marrow transplant, gene therapy and radiotherapy.

A ten-strong team from HESIS installed a fire alarm system with ventilation damper controls, a graphical head end and a total of around 2,500 devices. HESIS also provided an emergency voice communication system (EVCS) as part of the hospital’s disabled refuge system along with fixed room and desk hearing induction loops.

Barry Juggins, Managing Director at HESIS said: "This has been a project close to HESIS’ heart. We are honoured to have been involved in creating such a life-changing, state-of-the-art facility for our own home city. Knowing that the people of our region will be receiving world-class care in a hospital we have helped to bring to life makes me, the team and our supply chain immensely proud.”
